BIRDWATCHING IN ITALY
The high volcanic lakes of Lazio are along some of the world’s most popular avian highways. Among the 500+ species of migratory and nesting birds, during the winter months you will see the Golden and Short-Toed Eagle, the Griffon Vulture, many types of gulls, the Cattle and Great Egrets, the Flamingo and Hoopoe, the Red-billed Shrike, the Stone Curlew and Montagu’s Harrier, among others.
